As of today, the Carriel Sur Airport has a charging point for electric cars, becoming the first air terminal to have this type of infrastructure outside the Metropolitan Region.

The charging point was installed within the framework of the implementation and deployment of the "ElectroRuta Enel X" project, which will connect Chile from Arica to Punta Arenas through 1200 charging points.

“Chile ranks second in the world in the ratio of public access chargers versus electric vehicles available in the country. Today we have at least one charger in each region of Chile. However, we must continue to expand this network to reach all the cities of the country. This will help the accelerated incorporation of electromobility in the country”, explained the undersecretary of energy, Francisco López.

Through the installation of the new JuicePole charger, users will be able to fully charge their electric vehicle at the Concepción airport. This equipment has 2 22kW alternating current outlets that allow two electric vehicles to be charged simultaneously. In addition, users will be able to monitor the status of their charge through the LED display on the totem corresponding to the new charger.

The works of this new charging point, which already total three double-connection charging stations in Gran Concepción (Plaza España, municipality of San Pedro de la Paz and Airport), contemplated the underground channeling of more than 135 linear meters of power lines from the main board to the parking lot where the charger is installed.
